North Korea’s New Missile Tests and the EMP Threat the World Is Ignoring

In late March, North Korea completed testing on an upgraded solid-fuel engine designed for ICBMs capable of reaching the U.S. mainland. Kim Jong Un reportedly observed the testing personally at an undisclosed location according to North Korean state media, calling it a “significant advancement” in the country’s nuclear capabilities. Most media coverage has been focusing on the obvious concern of the possibility of one of these missiles hitting a major city. However, there’s one scenario that is being ignored but could be every bit as devastating because it doesn’t require a missile to hit anything at all.
